Advance Markup Languages ICA 2005: Dominic Neagle B2033666

Welcome

Welcome to my ICA for Advanced Markup Languages 2005. Below are links to the four tasks of the ICA, plus some information on each of them. To view the task, simply click on the button and you will be taken to it.

Task One

Task 1 involved using XML to display data about certain branches of a company. It demosntrates the use of CSS and DTD's within an XML document. It is best viewed using MOZILLA FIREFOX. Internet Explorer does not display the data correctly.

Task 1
Task Two

Task 2 of the ICA also utilised XML, but it also uses XSLT to create an XHTML document to display the data given. There are three tables on the page, followed by a summary of the data. Task 2 is viewable in both Internt Explorer 6 and Firefox.

Task 2
Task Three

Task 3 of the ICA uses SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) to create a game prototype. In this case, a space game has been created. It uses SVG to create the game objects, SMIL to animate them, and JavaScript to give some user control. The game works correctly when viewed in Internet Explorer 6 with Adobe SVG Viewer 6.0 Installed.

Task 3
Task Four

Task 4 is a written report (in .doc format) which outlines the basic content for the two lectures which are to replace the MathML lectures. The topics that I've chosen are XML Schema and XML and Databases.
